Location

The location we have chosen to film in is a big house in Chippenham, we have several bedrooms and lots of filming space so that we can broaden our ideas. We feel this is a good location because:

• It has a outdoor swimming pool
• Its really original and unique
• It has a library 
• It fits into our 19th century gothic theme that we are looking for
• This location suits our song because we have a very dark and lonely sound track.

The advantages of using this location is that there is alot of space which enables us to have the freedom to shoot certain scenes while experimenting. The house is quite old and has big rooms. As its Roshi's godmother's house we don't have to pay to use it.

The disadvantages of using this location is the distance because it takes a long time to travel to. Which makes things more expensive as we have to take trains and a coach. Because most of us haven't been there before we are not able to storyboard to a certain extent, our storyboards are very basic and does not have the detail we would like.

So far on our budget we have spent £40 , there are still props we need to buy these are:

• Smoke machine
• Fan
• Make-up
• Make News-paper articles
• Black and red roses
• Stereo

 

Ideas

The song we chose to create a music video for is called 'Raindrops'. The song is slow and serene, with a lone female singer. The song seems sad and has a mystic feel to it. In our group we brain stormed a number of ideas, seeing whether or not we wanted a narrative, and if so what would the story be. In the end, after much deliberation, we felt we didn't want to be controlled to much by having a storyline. But instead suggesting a storyline through the mise-en-scene would be far more effective for our song, as the lyrics can be interpreted in different ways for different people.
